Khushnud Nazrishoev

I have been working in the field of activity of Engineering Geology for more than 20 years. I have a PhD degree in this scientific field.

Over the years (2001-2008), I carried out work on Hazard, Vulnerability and Risk assessment in high mountainous are of the Western Pamirs and Northern Afghanistan. During this period, I researched and assessed the situation regarding hazardous geological processes on the territory of the Western Pamirs (56 settlements) and Afghanistan (25 settlements). Survey work under the construction of such important infrastructures as Hydroelectric Power Plants (HPP), roads and the construction of high-rise buildings in difficult from a geological point of view (conditions of high seismicity, complex tectonics and high activity of hazardous geological processes) I am working hard until now. During this time, I have gained a lot of experience not only theoretical, but also practical – working in the construction site itself. I would also like to mention that as a geologist engineer I have worked in the Western Pamirs, Northern Afghanistan, the Russian Federation and Africa.

Books are the main source of information for me. Reading books, I immerse myself in a completely different world; the world which the author of the book saw, the world of the human soul in which I immerse myself with my imaginations. When reading any book, an imaginary conversation will take place between the author, and me, and if the book has affected me or any other person, this already indicates that books are a great creation of man, which erase any boundaries between people, despite their citizenship, social class and political views or their religious beliefs.

Science never stands still, the speed of scientific and technological progress is currently observed at the “speed of light”. Computer modeling is the process of improving tools and objects of labor, technologies. At the present, without 3-D... modeling, it is impossible to imagine the construction of large facilities and the assessment of the natural state or equilibrium both during construction and their operation.

Nature is the material world of the Universe, in essence — the main object of the study of natural sciences. In my opinion, the profession of geology speaks for itself. A geologist by nature should be a “translator”, “doctor” or “detective” working with nature, knowing the “language” of rocks, delving into the “ailments" of nature. 

Sport is a source of energy; physical education is a powerful source of energy and positive emotions. Sport not only improves the form, but also strengthens mental health. However, unfortunately, lately I have been lagging behind sports more, but physically I am doing mountain walking.
